The Institute of Politics and Public Service at Georgetown’s McCourt School of Public Policy is proud to introduce our Fall 2020 Fifth-Anniversary Fellows class. We are particularly excited to work with this incredible group of practitioners as the Institute celebrates its fifth anniversary this year.
– Errin Haines: Founding member and Editor at Large, The 19th
– Mary Katharine Ham: Author and CNN Commentator
– Kevin Hassett: Former Senior Advisor and Chairman of the White House Council of Economic Advisers, Trump Administration
– Mia Love: Former Member of Congress (R-UT), 2015-2019
– Faiz Shakir (L ‘06): Campaign Manager, Bernie Sanders’ 2020 Presidential Campaign
– Lis Smith: Senior Advisor for Communications, Pete Buttigieg’s 2020 Presidential Campaign
With diverse backgrounds, areas of expertise, and viewpoints, this cohort will share their experiences with students, challenge their beliefs, and open doors into the world of politics over the next few months. They’re excited to start hosting their weekly discussion groups virtually in September, and getting to know you during their office hours, where you can build relationships that will expand your network, ask questions and seek advice, and chat about career paths or the latest developments in domestic and foreign policy.
Interested in diving in a bit deeper and working alongside the Fellows as part of a small cohort with your fellow Hoyas? Then we invite you to apply to join their Student Strategy Teams, where you’ll help with research, campus outreach, and brainstorming fresh ideas to make politics work better.
Please help us give our Fellows a warm welcome during our GU Politics Fellows Open House. This event is a great opportunity for you to learn more about the Fellows’ backgrounds, their current work, and what they have planned for you during the semester!
In addition to our Fellows program, we look forward to providing you with additional opportunities to stay (or get!) involved with GU Politics with special fifth anniversary activities over the course of the upcoming academic year. We also invite you to join us by:
– Attending our virtual Forum events and career workshops
– Joining our student leadership teams
– Subscribing to our calendar so you never miss out on the action
– Letting your friends know about us by helping them sign up for our newsletter
– Engaging with us on social media at @GUPolitics across Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat
