Dan Pfeiffer, co-host of the popular political podcast “Pod Save America” and a former Senior Advisor to President Obama, sat down with students to answer questions, talk politics, and share the broader themes behind his new book, Un-Trumping America: A Plan to Make America a Democracy Again. The conversation, moderated by Mo Elleithee, Executive Director of GU Politics, delved into the demographic and ideological changes underway in the United States.
Pfeiffer, who sees the current strife in American politics as larger than just who is in the White House, suggested several broad recommendations to strengthen the nation’s democracy. “Even if we are to beat Trump in 2020, which is something I think personally is very important and we’ll work very hard to do, even if we do that, we are not going to solve the problems that gave us Trump.”
