In a conversation moderated by Mo Elleithee, Executive Director of GU Politics, Mayor Pete Buttigieg spoke on the future of the Democratic Party, including how a new generation of leaders are stepping up to lead the resistance against Donald Trump, and how Democrats can win elections in even the reddest of states. Drawing on his background as the nation’s youngest mayor of a major city – Buttigieg was elected Mayor of South Bend, Indiana in 2011 and re-elected in 2015 – Afghanistan veteran, and candidate for Chair of the DNC, he answered questions from the Georgetown community on the road ahead for the Democratic Party and the nation.
