In a conversation moderated by Mo Elleithee, Executive Director of GU Politics, Senator Scott described recent changes underway in the Republican Party and what he predicted incoming over the next few years. Regarding the on-going primaries, he noted he was an early supporter of Marco Rubio, but was increasingly impressed by Donald Trump’s ability to build a “coalition of folks who have in many ways been disenfranchised from the political process.”
As well, Scott shared much of his early experiences that shaped his political positions and beliefs today. “No matter where you start, no matter who you are, no matter what has happened, the power of education is the power for you.”
