Politics of the Papal Visit

On September 25th, 2015, GU politics welcomed Luis Fortuño and Senator Tim Kaine (D-VA) for an event reflecting on faith and the recent visit to the US by Pope Francis.

Luis Fortuño, current GU Politics Fellow and former Republican governor of Puerto Rico, and Tim Kaine, Democratic Senator and former governor of Virginia, sat down to discuss Pope Francis’s speech to Congress, its impact on the legislative agenda and on the 2016 elections. The event was moderated by John Carr, Director of the Initiative on Catholic Social Thought and Public Life at Georgetown.
