The Health of Our Democracy, with Joe Kennedy (D-MA)

On April 1st, 2019, GU Politics hosted Massachusetts Congressman Joe Kennedy for a discussion on American healthcare.

In a conversation moderated by Mo Elleithee, Executive Director of GU Politics, Congressman Kennedy spoke about a wide range of health care topics, including mental health, opioids, childhood access, Obamacare, and Medicaid/Medicare, and the health of our democracy. From bipartisanship and impeachment, Congressman Kennedy answered questions from the Georgetown community on some of the greatest challenges currently facing our political system.

“Everyone one of us has got to be part of this solution. No one is going to solve it for you, and if you’re waiting for an elected official to solve it for you, you’re going to be waiting an awfully long time.”
