America’s Environmental Future

On December 4th, 2019, GU Politics welcomed panelists for a conversation analyzing the intersection of politics and climate change.

Students and panelists came together Wednesday for a conversation on environmental issues within the context of the 2020 presidential election. Responding to the rising importance of climate change and an emphasis on environmental protection policies that have emerged as priorities for some voters, panelists asked: what is the path forward? What are key party differences and where can we come together?

Speakers on the panel included: Josh Orton, National Policy Director, Bernie 2020; Cary Funk PhD, Director of Science and Society Research, Pew Research Center; Sarah E. Hunt, Co-founder and CEO, Joseph Rainey Center for Public Policy; Evan Weber, Co-founder and Political Director, Sunrise Movement.

This event was presented by the Walton Family Foundation, and moderated by POLITICO’s Gavin Bade, Energy Reporter.
