Joe Hack is a government relations specialist, political consultant, and former U.S. Senate Chief
of Staff with more than 15 years of Capitol Hill press, policy, and leadership experience.
Joe is currently Head of Global Government Affairs at Grindr. Most recently, he was Senior Vice President at The Daschle Group, where he provided strategic and public policy counsel to a broad range of clients. He maintains strong relationships with policymakers on both sides of the aisle and is known for his expertise in Senate politics and procedures. Joe also founded Swann Street Consulting, where he offers political and strategic communications advice to U.S. senators, statewide officials, candidates, and political organizations.
Previously, Joe spent 12 years as a senior advisor in both the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives, including more than six years as Chief of Staff to U.S. Senator Deb Fischer (NE). Appointed at the age of 27, Joe was among the youngest to ever hold the position of Senate Chief of Staff. In that role, he acted as the senator’s closest advisor on all policy, communications, and campaign operations. He initially served Fischer as Communications Director and Deputy Chief of Staff. Prior to that, he worked for Senate Whip Jon Kyle as Communications Director and chief spokesman. Joe is also a veteran of the U.S. House of Representatives, where he served as Press Secretary and Legislative Assistant for Rep. J. Randy Forbes (VA-04). He began his career in the office of Senator George Voinovich (OH). Joe chaired the Senate Republican Chiefs of Staff Working Group, which convenes all Republican chiefs of staff and committee staff directors each week for strategy and discussion. In addition, he co-chaired the Stennis Center’s “Bipartisan Defense Dialogues” with top defense policy aides and senior military commanders.
Joe was recognized by The Hill as a Top Lobbyist in 2022. He is also a 2022 Maverick PAC Future40 Awardee. The Future40 award recognizes young professionals across the country that embody the next generation of leadership in the public and private sectors.
In 2017, Joe was named by POLITICO as a top Senate operative in the “New Guard” Power List, a guide described as “crucial to understanding the players who are breaking through in the all-consuming era of Donald Trump.”
He is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Georgetown University and the George Washington University School of Law.
