Title: The Associated Press, Chamber of Commerce, & State Department: Spring 2025 Site Visits

In the Spring of 2025, current and former GU Politics Fellows took Georgetown students along to their workplaces across Washington, D.C. Aside from engaging in thought-provoking and timely discussions with the Fellows each week on campus, students had the opportunity to have exclusive conversations with leaders, policymakers and senior practitioners and pull back the curtain on some of the most influential places in D.C.

In March, Spring 2025 Fellow Meg Kinnard (F’02), a national politics reporter for the Associated Press, took a group of students to the AP’s downtown Washington Bureau. Students were able to see the newsroom, chat with reporters and editors, and ask Meg questions about the day-to-day happenings of the newsroom.

In April, Fall 2024 Fellow Rodney Davis, who currently serves as Head of Government Affairs at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, invited students including his Student Strategy Team to visit his office and learn more about what he’d been up to since his Fellowship ended. Suzanne Clark (S’97, MBAE’03), President CEO of the Chamber of Commerce, and Neil Bradley (C’98), Executive Vice President, Chief Policy Officer, and Head of Strategic Advocacy, visited with the students to share more with them about the work of the Chamber.

Later that month, Spring 2025 Fellow Heather Nauert, a former spokesperson for the State Department in the first Trump administration, brought a group of students to her old workplace. Students met with State Department officials and discussed the differences between its operations in the first and second Trump presidencies.

We are so grateful to our Fellows for providing students the opportunity to take a closer look at D.C. behind the scenes.
