Chair of the Republican National Committee, Ronna McDaniel joined students and Executive Director Mo Elleithee (SFS ’94) for a digital discussion on the GOP and 2020 elections. She discussed how the pandemic is offering challenges, but also unique opportunities, in voter engagement.
Feeling optimistic about the 2020 race, McDaniels told students and fellow watchers, “We build the roads so that candidates can drive on it. And that road takes years and years and years to build, and we’re in the best place we’ve ever been heading into this election.” Answering a variety of questions from students, she communicated the RNC’s approach to keeping supporters safe but still engaged actively as November’s Election Day approaches.
