Presenting his new book, The Briefing: Politics, the Press, and the President, Sean Spicer detailed his time as the White House Press Secretary at the beginning of the Trump Administration. The conversation and Q&A, moderated by Mo Elleithee, Executive Director of GU Politics, will also highlight Mr. Spicer’s rise to the national political scene and what he took from it. Though being a spokesman means effectively representing that candidate or official, Spicer noted that “you’re serving the person that was elected but ultimately you do have a more paramount responsibility to the American people as a whole.”
His book shone a light on the headline-grabbing Trump administration’s first year as well as the 2016 campaign and his time in Washington. The event was co-sponsored by College Republicans.
