Georgetown students had the opportunity to sit down with former Congressman Jason Altmire (D-PA) on his new book, How Political Polarization Divided America, and What We Can Do About It. Taking a scientific approach to partisanship, Altmire’s book examined research, trends, and systemic causes of polarization in the US.
Moderated by Georgetown Professor Jonathan Ladd, this discussion the relatively toxic nature of today’s political environment. Participants considered why that was, as well as what can be done to attenuate such national polarization.
