Waleed Shahid is a Democratic strategist and movement organizer who has made significant contributions to progressive politics in the United States. With a career spanning over a decade, Shahid has worked on various pivotal causes, including co-founding the recent Uncommitted campaign. His six-year tenure as the spokesperson for Justice Democrats is particularly notable, during which he played a key role in launching the Green New Deal campaign and successfully recruiting and electing working-class progressives such as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Jamaal Bowman, Cori Bush, and Summer Lee.

In addition to his work with Justice Democrats, Shahid has served in several influential political roles. He was a senior advisor to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s groundbreaking campaign and worked as a staffer and DNC delegate for Bernie Sanders in 2016. Shahid also served as the Policy Director for Cynthia Nixon’s gubernatorial campaign against Andrew Cuomo.
