Mary Frances Foster (MPP '23)
Career Co-Chair
Mary Frances Foster is the 2022-23 Career Co-Chair on GUPolitics’ Student Advisory Board. A second-year graduate student in the Master of Public Policy program at the McCourt School, She is passionate about U.S. domestic policy, including political strategy, governance, housing and urban inequality, election law and social justice. Mary Frances graduated from Elon University with a bachelor's degree in Political Science. Her undergraduate studies focused mainly on political theory and philosophy, with a concentration in racial equity and women and gender studies.
Before becoming Career Co-Chair, Mary Frances became involved with GU Politics as a member of Rebecca Pearcey's student strategy team and was also elected Treasurer for the McCourt Student Association. She previously worked as a communications professional at The Moore Agency in Tallahassee, Florida for four years, working primarily with state agencies to handle marketing and communications for statewide campaigns. Her work included budget management, advertising, content development, project management, strategy and market research. In the spring, she was a litigation and policy intern at the National Democratic Redistricting Committee and focused on redistricting battles in states like Florida, Louisiana, Alabama, North Carolina and Ohio.
This fall, Mary Frances will be working in the Executive Office of the President at the Office of Management and Budget as a full-time intern. She was born and raised in North Carolina and enjoys hiking, concerts and cheering on the Florida State football team.
