Heather Nauert is a senior communications advisor to corporations and government officials, specializing in high-stakes communications.
For nearly 20 years, Heather reported on domestic and foreign news for Fox News Channel and ABC News. During that time, she covered global crises and observed the work of State Department officials in Iraq and Sudan, witnessing the vital role diplomacy plays in U.S. national security. In 2017, President Trump named her spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State where she served until 2019, reporting to Secretaries Mike Pompeo and Rex Tillerson. In 2018, she was named acting under secretary for public diplomacy and public affairs.
In her dual role, she articulated U.S. foreign policy and coordinated public messaging for the department, its leadership, and nearly 300 embassies and consulates. She traveled with the Secretary of State while helping to plan, execute, and oversee communications on top initiatives, including negotiations with Kim Jong Un in North Korea and sanctions on Russia.
As an advocate for young professionals, Heather served on the William J. Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board and the President’s Commission on White House Fellowships. After covering the 9/11 terror attacks in New York City, she became involved in organizations serving post 9/11 combat veterans, including Warriors and Quiet Waters in Montana.
