On Tuesday, March 10, GU Politics and the Psaros Center for Financial Markets and Policy hosted a panel conversation on politics and prediction markets.
Amanda Fischer (MPP ’08), Policy Director and COO at Better Markets and former U.S. SEC Chief of Staff, and Brian Quintenz (MBA ’09), former U.S. CFTC Commissioner and Kalshi Board Member, discussed how prediction markets work, how they are regulated, and whether making money off of real world events is a net good for society. The conversation was moderated by Dispatch reporter Alex Demas and students were able to ask questions about the role of prediciton markets in today’s politics.
