Title: Black Women in Politics with Donna Brazile and Sen. Laphonza Butler

On Tuesday, October 28, GU Politics along with Georgetown University College Democrats and the Department of Women’s and Gender Studies hosted a conversation on Black women in politics and the future of the Democratic party. The panel featured Donna Brazile, former Chair of the Democratic National Committee, Georgetown adjunct professor, and GU Politics Advisory Board member, and Sen. Laphonza Butler, former U.S. Senator (D-CA) and Fall 2025 GU Politics Fellow. Brazile and Sen. Butler discussed the current state of the Democratic party, California’s upcoming elections, mentorship, and more.
