Ife John-Idiagbonya (COL '25)
Fellows Co-Chair
Ife John-Idiagbonya is the 2022-23 Fellows Co-Chair on GUPolitics’ Student Advisory Board. As an avid lover of languages, she is a Linguistics major in the College pursuing a minor in Chinese. She has plans to learn many more languages down the line. Before becoming Fellows Co-Chair, she was a member of Rory Cooper’s student strategy team and served as a Team Lead for Kristen Soltis-Anderson’s team. She is also an alum of the Campaign Bootcamp Pre-Orientation Program. Now as a part of the SAB, Ife hopes to encourage more students to look for ways to combine politics and public service with their other interests.
Outside of GUPolitics, Ife volunteered this past summer for MIDiaries, a sociolinguistic project at Michigan State University that works to record and document the everyday lives of Michigan residents throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. Through this project, they are documenting the change in language usage that has occurred during the pandemic. As a volunteer on the project, Ife helped to create questions that would be sent out to the participants of the project. Outside the McCourt Living Room, Ife is a writer for Spoon University, a publication dedicated to talking about anything and everything related to food. Besides food, she also enjoys reading, calligraphy and crocheting.
