Title: Announcing the ‘Women & Politics’ Series

Let’s talk about women and politics.
Women make up nearly 51 percent of the U.S. population, but only 24 percent of state legislators and less than 20 percent of Congress. The number of female staffers in Congress, in local politics, and on political campaigns is dwarfed by that of their male counterparts. Politicians constantly talk about “women’s issues” and reaching female voters, but does anyone really know what they are talking about? What’s the deal?
The IPPS Women & Politics event series will tackle all things women and politics- women in elected office and on the trail, the female vote, “women’s issues,” women covering politics, and more- by hosting speakers, panel discussions, and other events.
