Title: Announcing The Alexis and Laurence Pelosi Endowed Internship Fund Inaugural Cohort

The Georgetown Institute of Politics and Public Service at the McCourt School of Public Policy is honored to announce the inaugural cohort of the recently launched Alexis and Laurence Pelosi Endowed Internship Fund.

The Fund provides financial support for undergraduate and graduate students at Georgetown pursuing unpaid internships or internships that provide a nominal stipend in the fields of politics, public service, or media.

The inaugural cohort and their respective internships includes:

Lauren Hassett (MPP’23) AEI, Government Relations

Alexander Johnson (C’23), Office of Congressman Andy Kim (NJ-03)

Gabriel Panuco-Mercado (F’23), National Domestic Workers Alliance

Lauren Presley (B’23), International Development Finance Corporation, Legislative Affairs

Komal Samrow (F’25), League of Women Voters of Massachusetts

These students were selected out of a very competitive pool of applicants who submitted an application and proceeded through an interview process.

The selected awardees will receive $3,000 in funding to support their living expenses, including housing, transportation, and food. They will also have access to enrichment opportunities through trainings and workshops conducted by professionals in public service.

The Alexis and Laurence Pelosi Endowed Fund was established through a $100,000 gift to the Institute of Politics and Public Service from Alexis and Laurence Pelosi.

The Institute of Politics and Public Service hopes to continue providing students with the appropriate tools and resources as they go out into the world and make impactful contributions and explore their own pathways into politics and public service.
