Running from Office: Why Young Americans are Turned Off to Politics

by Jennifer Lawless and Richard Fox

Recommended by:  Sophie Kim Goldmacher

This is a book I want to read!
Leading political scientists Jennifer L. Lawless and Richard L. Fox have written a book that explores why more and more young people want to run for political office less and less. While one of the authors runs the Women & Politics Institute up the road at American University, this book seems to get at exactly why the Institute of Politics and Public Service exists. I think we can turn the tide of what the data show about young people's attitudes toward politics and government!
