For SiriusXM: Hillary Herskowitz
WHAT: In celebration of Women’s History Month, the Georgetown University Institute of Politics and Public Service (GU Politics) and SiriusXM will welcome Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) for a conversation with Julie Mason, host of “The Press Pool with Julie Mason” on SiriusXM, on Thursday, March 5.
Speaker Pelosi, who made history by becoming the first female Speaker of the House, will sit down with Julie Mason to discuss the impact the 19th Amendment has had on our history and culture over the last 100 years and, more personally, the women who have influenced her life and career path. In line with GU Politics’ mission of reconnecting young people with the notion that politics is a noble vehicle for public service, we are glad to host this conversation focused on Speaker Pelosi’s historic leadership within the context of the 100-year anniversary of the 19th Amendment, which granted women the right to vote.
Following her discussion with Julie Mason, Speaker Pelosi will participate in a question and answer session with the Georgetown community, moderated by Mason and GU Politics Executive Director Mo Elleithee. Speaker Pelosi previously visited GU Politics in April 2018 for a Town Hall with Georgetown students.
The event will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Georgetown's main campus in the University’s historic Gaston Hall. The conversation will be recorded for broadcast on Friday, March 6 at 5 p.m. ET. It will air on “The Press Pool with Julie Mason,” which is on SiriusXM’s non-partisan P.O.T.U.S Channel 124. The show will also re-air throughout the weekend.
