Nadeam Elshami, recently retired after 25 years of public service on Capitol Hill, is now Executive Vice President at SIGNAL group. He brings a sharp strategic insight and battle-tested leadership that have shaped the course of the most consequential public policy fights of the last decade, political acumen, and high-level bipartisan and national media relationships forged to the private sector.
Most recently, Nadeam served as Chief of Staff to Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, overseeing every aspect of operations, Member relations, communications and policy. Prior, he served as her Communications Director and Senior Advisor — her top strategist and spokesman, as well as leading messaging around the successful passage of the Affordable Care Act, Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform, and other historic legislation. Nadeam also launched the restructuring of Democratic communications operations, enhancing rapid response, new technology platforms and social media engagement.
For decades, Nadeam has designed and executed innovative, powerful campaigns to shape congressional and federal action, media coverage and public opinion. Speaker Paul Ryan paid tribute to Nadeam on the House floor, calling him “first-class” and “as formidable as they come.” He was named to Politico’s 2017 power list of the 30 most powerful people and groups in Washington.
Nadeam’s career bridges the full spectrum of politics, policy, communications and advocacy. He served as Senior Communications Advisor for Assistant Democratic Leader Senator Dick Durbin, Deputy Chief of Staff and Communications Director to Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky, and Deputy Press Secretary to Senator Barbara Boxer.
Nadeam is a CNN political commentator. He is also a board member of the Capital Area Immigrant Rights Coalition.
Fluent in Arabic, Nadeam holds a B.A. in international business from the University of Evansville and is married to Stacy Elshami, his wife of 25 years. They are the proud parents of three children.
