Martin J. Sweet has been on the faculty or a visitor at Northwestern University, the University of Haifa, Florida Atlantic University, and Dickinson College. He was the 2005 co-winner of the Corwin Prize for the nation’s best dissertation in the area of public law. His book, Merely Judgment: Ignoring, Evading, and Trumping the Supreme Court, examines affirmative action, hate speech, flag burning, school prayer, and legislative vetoes.
Sweet has been an invited speaker and panel moderator for national and local educational, civic, political, and religious organizations, and served as the Director of Jewish Outreach for Marco Rubio for President, 2016, and on the field team for Marco Rubio for Senate, 2016. He earned his bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degree, all in political science from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, and a law degree from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities.
