Jessica Andino is a native of Rockville, Maryland. She is a rising junior at Georgetown University pursuing a degree in Government and Sociology.
Her interest in politics and public service began in high school when she interned for Montgomery Council member, Nancy Navarro, working closely with Latino civic engagement. She has also interned for Congressman Chris Van Hollen at the constituent office where she helped on immigration and military legal cases.
During her sophomore year, she joined the Institute of Politics and Public Service’s Operations Team and was the press and communications student strategist for former fellow and former President of Costa Rica, Laura Chinchilla.
At Georgetown, Jessica has been actively involved in the Georgetown Scholarship Program (GSP) as a peer mentor, Hoyas for Immigrant Rights (HfIR) as Community Liaison, the Georgetown University Student Association (GUSA) as the Undocumented Student Liaison, and the Center for Multicultural Equity & Access’ (CMEA) Hoya Saxa Weekend as Logistics Co-Coordinator.
Jessica’s most memorable GU Politics moment has been meeting former Governor of Maryland, Martin O’ Malley and hopes she can one day hold elected office.
