The Institute of Politics and Public Service (GU Politics) at Georgetown’s McCourt School of Public Policy will host The Office of Management and Budget Director, Mick Mulvaney for a discussion on the new Republican tax plan. The event will take place on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at 7:00PM in the Healey Family Student Center Social Room.
In a conversation moderated by Cathy Koch (Americas Tax Policy Leader, EY; Member, GU Politics Advisory Board), Director Mulvaney will make the case to Georgetown students on what the intentions of the framework of the tax are and how the Administration is going to work to get it passed. He will also discuss the main pillars of the the new tax proposal as well as touch on the federal budget.
Mick Mulvaney is the current director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). President Donald J. Trump nominated him to the post in December 2016 and the Senate confirmed him on February 16, 2017. Prior to his time as the director of OMB, he served the people of the 5th District of South Carolina in the U.S. House of Representatives. Elected in 2010, he was the first Republican member to hold the seat in 128 years.
