Georgetown is excited to welcome Senator Claire McCaskill (D-MO) to campus for a discussion on all-things women and politics.
The Senator recently released her personal memoir, Plenty Ladylike, reflecting on her personal journey and political career from the Missouri House of Representatives to being the first woman from Missouri elected to the United States Senate.
In a conversation moderated by NPR’s Susan Davis, Senator McCaskill will discuss her personal political journey- her career, her struggles, and her triumphs as a progressive female candidate in a conservative state.
The conversation will also touch on female voters, their increasing power as a voting bloc, and the role they will play in 2016. We’ll also explore her outlook on the Senate- the 2016 election, the politics, and what lies ahead for the world’s greatest deliberative body.
