GU Politics Site Visit: C-SPAN

C-SPAN Studio Tour and Sit-down with Senior Executive Producer and Political Editor, Steve Scully

Interested in communications and media? Want to see what a TV studio looks like behind the scenes and meet with a top political journalist? Join GU Politics for a career-focused site visit on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 from 12:30pm-4:00pm to meet Steve Scully and tour the C-SPAN network studios. You’ll learn about the role C-SPAN plays in the inner workings of Capitol Hill, as well as see where their shows are produced every day.

Steve Scully is C-SPAN’s Senior Executive Producer/ Political Editor/ Primary host. He is responsible for coordinating all aspects of C-SPAN’s campaign programming for C-SPAN, and C-SPAN Radio (now heard on XM/ Sirius Channel 120.) In addition, he manages a team of field producers responsible for the editorial coverage of The White House, politics and special projects. He has managed election coverage for every presidential race since 1992, overseeing C-SPAN’s “Road to the White House” programming and developing media partnerships with CNN, NBC and the Associated Press.

Space is limited – please RSVP and Jennie Fay, GU Politics Director of Fellows and Career Programming, will be in touch by November 26th to confirm your space on the site visit.

Note: We will meet at the GUTS Shuttle Bus Turnaround (located by McDonough Gym) at 12:30pm and leave for the visit on the GUTS Law Center Shuttle promptly at 12:50pm. If you are late, you will be responsible for your own transportation to the visit. The site visit will end at approximately 3:00pm and we will return on the Law Center Shuttle to main campus, which departs at 3:35pm from the Law Center and should arrive back to campus by 4:00pm.
