Connor Maytnier is a senior in the College majoring in Government and Sociology. Originally from Barrington, Illinois – a northwest suburb of Chicago – he spends most of his time watching sports (Go Cubbies!), reading about politics, and tweeting. Prior to joining the Student Advisory Board, Connor served as a GU Politics Convention Ambassador at the 2016 Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio.
As a junior in high school, Connor got his start in the world of politics and public service while serving as a volunteer on a county board campaign in Lake County, Illinois. This experience motivated him to pursue a degree in Government and internship opportunities in politics. During his time in D.C., Connor held an internship on Capitol Hill during the fall of 2014, working for U.S. Congressman Peter Roskam (IL-06). In the spring of 2015, he had the opportunity to attend the Conservative Political Action Conference, hosted in National Harbor, Maryland.
On campus at Georgetown, Connor is in his third year as a Resident Assistant in the Office of Residential Living. He also serves as the co-chair of the 2017 National Jesuit Student Leadership Conference, and as the student representative to the University’s Board of Directors. After Georgetown, Connor is interested in pursuing his interests in both politics and sports business.
