Austin Riddick

Civic Engagement Ambassador, Student Leadership Council

Austin Riddick (COL ’20)
Civic Engagement Ambassador

As a Civic Engagement Ambassador, Austin works to establish a working definition of civic engagement and aims to promote political and social activism both on Georgetown’s campus and in the wider Washington, D.C. community.

A junior in the College studying government, Austin has long been passionate about promoting social change. He is a research assistant with the Prisons and Justice Initiative, where he helps to run a mentorship program for children with incarcerated parents. Austin has also worked with an innocence project in Princeton, N.J., called Centurion, as a case manager. His role analyzed the death penalty and life without parole cases, making recommendations on whether or not different clients had viable cases of innocence.

Austin lives in New Jersey. The oldest of 3 siblings, he loves his family more than anything, even soccer, which he has played since age three and continues to do so for the Georgetown Men’s Soccer Team.
