Alec Camhi

COL '20

Committee: Communications, Events

Alec is a sophomore in the College majoring in math and economics. A native of Stamford, Connecticut, he now lives just outside of Denver, Colorado.

He first became involved in politics by working on campaigns with his grandmother in fifth grade for then-Senator Obama and local candidates. His passion for politics led him to volunteer and intern on a number of high-profile races, including Andrew Romanoff’s congressional campaign in Colorado’s 6th District in 2014, as well as the 2016 Colorado Democratic Coordinated Campaign for Hillary Clinton, Michael Bennet, and Morgan Carroll. He also interned over the summer in Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper’s policy office. This semester, he is an intern on the Hill for the first time with Connecticut Senator Richard Blumenthal.

Alec was drawn to Georgetown largely because of its ideal location in Washington, D.C. and hit the ground running with GU Politics. Before becoming a member of the Student Advisory Board, he participated in the Campaign Bootcamp: Battleground Virginia pre-orientation program, Special Operations, Research Squad, and Comms Crew. He is currently the research director for Fly on the Wall Podcast and a regular attendee of office hours, discussion groups, and events.
